For this project, we were asked to use a matrix we built based off of a word we chose, and to design a series of 3 book covers for books that connect with the word. The word I chose was peace.
I chose the books Amazonia, The Shack, and The Book Thief. For Amazonia, I connected the imagery of the Yin-Yang for peace, and created the image of an eclipse to represent the book. For The Book Thief, I chose the image of a dove and combined it with a book, rescuing it from the fire. For The Shack, the imagery I used was that of a person in the lotus position of yoga, as the book was about a man finding peace with a tragic event of his past.
